Why Photography Blogging is Good for You

By Kate

First thing’s first. What is photography? No need to grab the nearest dictionary you can find. We’re here to talk about photography more than just its technicalities. So, I’ll ask the question one more time. What is photography? Why it’s a service of course. But not just any service, it’s also a personal service. Why? As a photographer, your job is to enter the lives of your clients and capture as many memories as you can. You aren’t just recording memories, you’re also shooting emotions.

Being a photographer is pretty big. Clients trust you enough to let you get into some of their biggest moments. The more they are comfortable with you, the more they are likely to hire you.

You didn’t need to hear that. You’re already a good photographer as it is. Tons of people are all queuing for your services, and they’re willing to pay the amount you see fit. You know that you have no need to put up a photography blog. You’re already quite popular as it is. There’s no need for advertisements. Besides, it’ll only be a waste of your time. Why should you waste your time blogging, when there are countless people all dying for you to shoot their events, right?

But have you ever thought about making it on the big screen, or maybe just achieve the peak of your photography potential? It’s not always about how good your photos are. It’s not always about how many time you shoot each week. Rather it’s more about a number of people getting to see your work. Read on to see the perks of owning a photography blog.

It gives you the opportunity to show the world who you are

Sure, people are probably commending you for your awesome photography skills. They may even consider you to be a photography guru because of your shooting greatness. But all these flatteries and mushy comments aren’t a reason to stop. Rather, it should give you more power to keep on going.

Okay, so you’re a pretty active photographer, always seen with a camera on one hand, and a tripod on the other, but that’s not the point here. What we’re trying to score is that you should go on sharing your art to the world. Don’t be contented with all your fans sitting in one city or town. Aim for worldwide. I’m not saying you should pack your bags tonight and travel the world. No, what I’m saying is there is no boundary in your art, especially now when blogs are already prevalent. Through the use of blogs, you have the freedom to advertise yourself to the world. You’re free to tell the world why photography is important to you, and why your art matters.

People from all around the globe can see your greatest and latest work

As a photographer, I know you have with you a clear book containing all your shots, which you bring with you wherever you go, especially when you’re out to meet new or prospective clients.

Doesn’t it get you excite whenever you get to meet with a group of people who are all interested in seeing your portfolio? Well, just imagine how great it would be if people from all around the world could see your work. It’s possible. All you need is to get to blogging.

Take it as your online portfolio. All you need is to know the correct SEO procedures, and then tons of people would be popping into your site out of nowhere. It’ll give you more opportunity to land better clients in the future.

Clients can link back to your blog when sharing your photos

People just love seeing their photos on a photographer’s blog. It makes them feel important. This isn’t just about making them feel good for hiring you as their photographer. Rather, it’s more about having your own clients advertise your name.

If you think telling people how good you are is already taking you places, then what more if ones who are bragging about you are people who have actually experienced your service. You’ll get more exposure than ever before.

And one more thing, do you see how people refuses to buy products without seeing the reviews first? They want to see people’s feedback first before they use the product. They don’t want to waste money if they’re just going to be disappointed in the end. Well, that’s also the case with photography. People won’t just hire you because you’re a photographer. They’re only going to hire you if they think you’re good. Having your client share your work is just like a product review. Your clients are going to tell the world why they like your service, and everyone who’s connected with that person is going to see that review, and then there you have it. You’re going to make it as a photographer.

You’ll get to establish your personal brand

Perhaps, you’ve already reached the apex of your local photography career. Maybe it’s time to upgrade your career. Don’t worry it’s not that hard. You’re already a thing as much as your clients are concerned. It’s time to establish your name.

You can use various blogging platforms to show off your work. You can express your won photography art. Let people get to know you as someone unique. Branding isn’t just about thinking of a brand name and logo. It’s more about showing the world how different you are from other brands.

Blogging is money-wise

Not only is it easy to maintain, it’s also cheap. Considering how much benefit blogs can give you, it doesn’t cost much either.

You can choose to put up a free or paid blog. It doesn’t really matter especially when you’re just starting out. What’s more important is that you’re getting to spread your name out there.

Do you want to know the best part? Blogging can also get you money. How? Well, by building your brand of course. When you blog you don’t just say randomly how great you are. You are there to showcase your skills, and at the end of it all, your goal is to get people to acquire your service. It pays to have a contact page on your blog so that people can message or email you if they need your skills. Whatever’s the price, you name it. They’ll be more than happy to give it to you because you are just that awesome.
